A team of UTM researchers, lead by Prof Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, had created a water filtration system based on membrane technology. The system was built to filter the water twice at a capacity of at least 5000 litre per hour, ensuring 100% safe-for-drinking water. The system is already proven to help community in Sabah and Sarawak. Prof Fauzi and the team are also in the process of negotiation with local authorities to deploy such system in flood-prone area.
