Dr. Rozzeta Dolah, trained in Japan and is a Chartered Engineer registered in UK, is a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is currently a post doctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA with expertise in robust quality engineering for nanotechnology in renewable energy.
Her area of interests are in microfluidic and nanofluidic transportation system for energy conversion from biomass into aviation fuel, with particular emphasis on the technical experimental design and optimization. As Minitab trainer, she involves mainly in process robustness against variation in order to boost yield and production of a system.
Dr. Rozzeta Dolah also works in several labs and have lead the design and optimization of a biomass reactor for second generation pyrolysis for bio fuel conversion and adhesion in flexible packaging film. She has the access to a broad range of industrial application utilizing robust statistical optimization using Minitab.
Dr. Rozzeta Dollah collaborates with industries including Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) and PROTON Holdings. With TNB, Dr. Rozzeta deals with the issue on reducing CO2 emission in TNB Malaysia’s power plant using nano catalyst in marine micro algae photo bioreactor. With PROTON, Dr. Rozzeta helps in dealing with the robust quality engineering optimization for vehicle dynamic responses in various ride and handling (R&H) performance.
As a post doctoral at Microfluidic and Nanofluidic Research Laboratory, under Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, and having the experience in robust measurement and metrology at Meiji University, Japan; the research has enabled her to develop skills in robust engineering method for nanotechnology. She teaches quality engineering and her experiences in quality engineering was gained under the direct tutelage of the son of the late Dr. Taguchi, world’s renowned Quality Guru.
Dr. Rozzeta Dolah was also elected as the President of MIT Postdoctoral Association (MIT PDA) for the 2018/2019 session and became the first Malaysian to hold this position at MIT.
Dr. Rozzeta is also a Minitab trainer, uses it as a powerful statistical software for process optimization, quality improvement in science and engineering field. It provides a simple, effective way to input statistical data, manipulate that data, identify trends and patterns, and extrapolate answers to the problem at hand. The software is vital to investigate the underlying cause of a problem and expedite the problem solving process.
